We place teachers in dynamic, well-supported tier 1 and 2 cities where there’s a strong school community and a great quality of life. All locations offer something unique, whether it’s modern city life, coastal views, or deeper cultural roots.
China’s cities are commonly grouped into tiers based on factors like population size, economic development, infrastructure, and international connectivity.
Tier 1 cities (like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen) are large, global hubs with fast-paced lifestyles, international communities, and higher living costs.
Tier 2 cities are major regional centers—often more affordable, with a strong local identity and plenty of modern amenities.
Tier 3 and below tend to be smaller, less developed, and more traditional.
From the high-tech hustle of Guangdong, to the historic charm of Shandong, the natural beauty of Zhejiang, the cultural heart of Hubei, or the dynamic northeast of Liaoning, our placements will be shaped to match your strengths—and surprise you in the best ways.
It’s easy to be drawn to big names like Shanghai or Beijing—but some of the richest experiences come from places you might not have picked yourself. Smaller or lesser-known cities mean stronger community ties, more cultural immersion, a cheaper cost of living and a more relaxed lifestyle.
Explore the incredible regions where your teaching journey might begin.
